Schmolz + Bickenbach: Chairman Edwin Eichler will not stand for re-election
by David Fleschen
The Chairman of Board of Directors of "Schmolz + Bickenbach", Edwin Eichler, has a positive personal record after more than five years and will not stand for re-election to the Board of Directors at the next Annual General Meeting.
Edwin Eichler has decided to leave the Board of Directors of the world's leading special long steel producer based in Lucerne at the next Annual General Meeting, scheduled for April 30, 2019. Mr. Eichler has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company since 2013 and would now like to turn to other projects. He explains the timing of the announcement by stating that he wants to give the Company time and opportunity to find a suitable successor.
Mr. Eichler draws a positive personal balance of his time on the Board of Directors and sees the sustained good earnings development of recent years as well as the solid, future-oriented strategic positioning of the Company as the right moment for his personal farewell.
Until his departure, Mr. Eichler will continue to fully perform his duties on the Board of Directors and accompany the succession process.
