Eirich Group celebrates anniversaries in India, China, and Japan
by David Fleschen
The Eirich Group is celebrating significant anniversaries this year, marking 50 years of operations in Japan, 30 years in China, and 25 years in India. Reflecting on these milestones, CEO Stephan Eirich acknowledged the dedication of over 400 employees at the three Asian locations and highlighted the strategic importance of the Asian markets to the company. In addition, Eirich has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in India.
Global Expansion: A Key Driver of Success
International locations offer a variety of benefits for industrial companies, particularly in industries that involve specialized investment goods requiring extensive customer support and on-site technical guidance. Eirich’s proximity to its customers in key global markets enables the company to provide efficient services, such as spare parts and process engineering advice in local languages. This approach has contributed to the company’s ability to capture growth opportunities and maintain a strong presence in the global market.
Eirich, a global leader in mixing and preparation technology, recognized the advantages of internationalization over 70 years ago. Led by earlier generations of the Eirich family, notably Paul and Walter Eirich, the company established its first overseas subsidiary in North America in the late 1950s. This was followed by expansion into Japan, Brazil, China, India, France, South Africa, Italy, the CIS, and more recently, Australia and Thailand.
Asia: A Crucial Market for Future Growth
The recent anniversaries in Japan, China, and India underscore the significance of these regions to Eirich’s overall strategy. Asia, particularly China and India, represents a key market for industrial equipment and production machinery. The company’s production facilities in these regions allow it to respond promptly to local demand and maintain or expand its market share. CEO Stephan Eirich explained, “It has always been essential for us to grant our local teams significant autonomy in terms of leadership and operations. Our ‘local for local’ approach ensures we remain close to our customers. Even after half a century, our Asian subsidiaries and production sites are vital to the Eirich Group’s competitiveness.”
Innovation, Customer Focus, and Supply Chain Efficiency
Stephan Eirich also emphasized the importance of being close to customers in the Asian market to foster innovation and develop products that meet local needs. The company’s ability to adapt its machines to regional requirements has allowed Eirich to create reliable products and maintain a strong market position. With a focus on India, the new production site has enhanced the company’s integration into the global supply chain, enabling Eirich India to supply parts and complete machines to other markets.
A Legacy of Tradition, Innovation, and Global Reach
Founded in the Odenwald region of Germany, Eirich celebrates its international achievements alongside its employees. The company, which marked its 160th anniversary last year, continues to emphasize the importance of collaboration and innovation in shaping its future. Ralf Rohmann, Managing Partner, stated, “With our extensive knowledge and constant pursuit of new ideas, we are confident in our ability to achieve continued success. Our global outlook has been essential to establishing foreign subsidiaries and production sites over the decades.”
Eirich also plans to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the invention of the Eirich Mixer later this year. Despite a century of success, the company remains focused on providing innovative solutions across various industries. As Eirich looks to the future, it is ready to continue building on its long-standing tradition of excellence and innovation.
