by David Fleschen
With 15 percent more visitors and 11 percent more exhibitors, CHINA DIECASTING 2019 concluded three successful days on a completely positive note. “It was the biggest and most successful CHINA DIECASTING ever. International participation is also increasing year by year. I am delighted by this positive development, especially in view of the present somewhat sluggish automobile market,” says Christopher Boss, Exhibition Director and International Product Manager for EUROGUSS. The die casting trade fair attracted some 18,671 trade visitors who learned all about the latest trends and developments from the around 450 exhibitors. The next CHINA DIECASTING will take place from 15 to 17 July 2020 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
CHINA DIECASTING has become established as the leading trade fair for die casting in the Asian market. This year, the theme of the exhibition was “Development and diversity of high-end die casting manufacturing technology”. Digitalization, e-mobility and additive manufacturing were just some of the topics that were much discussed in the exhibition halls and at the forums. There was particular praise for the quality of the visitors and exhibitors. According to a survey, CHINA DIECASTING 2019 was rated as the best round of the event to date in respect of the high calibre of the participants
Diverse supporting programme: by experts for experts
In more than ten forums and special display areas, participants in CHINA DIECASTING debated the latest developments and market trends. The topics discussed included the manufacture of high-quality die-cast structural components, innovative moulds and dies and other progressive technologies in the die-casting industry. For example, there are applications for die casting in 5G telecommunications, electro-mobility, digitalisation and 3D printing.
A special highlight of the event was the Auto-Tech Day, a combination of forum and exhibition. It brought together specialists from the Chinese and international automobile and die-casting industries to discuss the important role of die casting and new materials and trends in the automotive sector. The Sino-Foreign Die Casting Development Forum was also extremely successful. Renowned European companies and industry experts came together to explore the latest developments in the die casting industry in Europe, but also in comparison to China. Another special display area showcased die-cast parts for a large number of applications that had won awards in the die casting competition. Ahead of the fair, foundries submitted die-cast parts made from aluminium, magnesium and zinc which were then evaluated by a jury of experts. The purpose of the competition is to demonstrate the capabilities of Chinese die-casting foundries. It is planned to display the prize-winning parts at EUROGUSS 2020 in Nuremberg as well.

The EUROGUSS PAVILION made its first appearance at CHINA DIECASTING in 2019. The pavilion serves as a platform for European companies and EUROGUSS exhibitors. Participants in the EUROGUSS Pavilion were impressed not just by the high-quality stand but also by the range of services provided in the run-up to the event and at the venue, which ensured an effective trade fair appearance by the exhibitors involved. A total of 13 companies took part in the Pavilion, including Schaufler Tooling GmbH & Co. KG, EKW GmbH, Piller Entgrattechnik GmbH, Copromec Die Casting S.R.L. and FISA Group S.A.
The business delegation trip to CHINA DIECASTING 2019 was also well received. Here too, the focus was on giving participants a comprehensive overview of the Chinese market and helping them to establish initial contacts or consolidate their existing network.
