Augsburg - KUKA Group posted orders received totaling €914.0 million in the second quarter of 2019. This corresponds to a 4.8% decrease on the second quarter of 2018.
Berlin – According to the Federal Statistical Office, incoming orders in the manufacturing sector rose by 2.5 % in June compared with the previous month. Orders from the non-Euroregion contributed to this, increasing by 8.6 % supported by large orders.
Düsseldorf – China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan, has awarded SMS group the contract to supply three 160-ton converters for its No. 1 steel making plant in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The aim of the upgrade is to improve the availability of the converters and reduce the need for maintenance.
Lucerne – Schmolz +BIckenbach today reported a 16.2% decline in sales volume from 580 kilotons in the second quarter of 2018 to 486 kilotons. Due to higher sales prices, revenue decreased proportionally less sharply to EUR 807.6 million (11.1%) from EUR 908.3 million in the prior-year quarter.
Frankfurt – In the first six months of the current year, machine builders in Germany recorded a significant drop in their order books. In the first half of 2019, they recorded a 9 percent decline in orders in real terms compared with the previous year, with the decline being the same in Germany and abroad.
Hannover. Following its successful debut this year, the Industrial Pioneers Summit will be entering its second season HANNOVER MESSE in April of 2020. Some 500 participants from around the world are expected to attend the event on 22 April 2020.

Stuttgart – Bosch is preparing systematically for connected manufacturing and logistics: effective July 1, 2019, Sven Hamann, 46, took over as head of the Bosch Connected Industry business unit. Hamann succeeds Dr. Stefan Assmann.
