Düsseldorf – Taiwanese steel producer China Steel Corporation (CSC) has awarded SMS Mevac the order to revamp the oldest of the RH units at its No. 1 steel works in Kaoshiung. SMS Mevac will equip the RH unit with a new, four-stage steam jet vacuum pump.
Brussels – Duplex stainless steels form the latest family of stainless steels, tested as early as in the 1930’s and mass produced from the 1970’s onwards. Their excellent mechanical properties and their corrosion resistance have made them a first choice material for high-load applications in corrosive environments.

Düsseldorf – Al Gharbia Pipe Company has successfully taken into operation its new LSAW (Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded) pipe plant. The new LSAW large-diameter pipe production facility was built at the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), by a consortium of Larsen & Toubro Limited and SMS group.
Munich/Schwelm – Klüber Lubrication München SE & Co. KG acquired the TRAXIT International GmbH, Schwelm, Germany. The purchase agreement includes all assets of the company including the international subsidiaries. With this acquisition TRAXIT becomes a further division of Klüber Lubrication.
