VDMA NRW welcomes state's unleashing motion in the Federal Council of Germany

The VDMA NRW welcomes the fact that the government of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)  intends to push ahead with the debureaucratisation also at the federal level and thus to supplement the economic stimulus packages adopted with measures to reduce bureaucracy. This is intended to eliminate unnecessary burdens for business, administration and citizens and to create scope for innovation.

The unleashing motion submitted to the Bundesrat contains, among other things, 48 proposals for reducing and avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy. Among them are important points that the VDMA has been campaigning for some time to implement in order not to place an additional burden on medium-sized companies in the machine and plant construction industry. Planned measures, such as the Supply Chain Act, the legal entitlement to home office and new taxes on assets and financial transactions that hinder investment would have a counterproductive effect on the recovery and further development of the mechanical and plant engineering industry.

"The proposed measures of the state government reduce the bureaucratic burden on companies and give them the flexibility they need to act entrepreneurially", explains Bernd Supe-Dienes, Chairman of the Board of the VDMA NRW. "The industry needs appropriate framework conditions to be able to exploit its potential - now more than ever!
