Thyssenkrupp confirms Ilse Henne as Chair of Supervisory Board and Dennis Grimm as CEO

Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG has made key leadership decisions during an extraordinary Supervisory Board meeting, as part of its organizational restructuring efforts. Ilse Henne, a member of the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp AG and CEO of Materials Services, has been named Chair of the Supervisory Board.
On the employee side, Knut Giesler, District Manager of IG Metall North Rhine-Westphalia, has joined the Supervisory Board and been elected as Deputy Chair. In addition, the shareholder side of the board has been filled by Detlef Schotten, Andreas Zinke, and Sonja Püskens, who hold various roles within the thyssenkrupp Group. Ali Güzel, Chair of the Works Council at the Duisburg-Hamborn plant, has replaced Tekin Nasikkol on the employee side.
The Supervisory Board has also confirmed Dennis Grimm as the CEO of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG. Grimm had been serving as interim CEO since late August and will now fully take on operational responsibility, overseeing technological advancements and the company's green transformation efforts. In addition, Grimm will temporarily manage the newly restructured sales and innovation division.
Effective October 1, 2024, Dr.-Ing. Marie Jaroni, previously Executive Vice President of Steel at thyssenkrupp AG, will join the management board as Chief Transformation Officer. She will lead a newly created division focused on the strategic development of the company and its performance-oriented management to enhance competitiveness.
Philipp Conze has been confirmed as CFO and will continue to oversee the human resources department until a replacement is appointed.
Commenting on the changes, Ilse Henne, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said, "Thyssenkrupp Steel is progressing with its restructuring. With these new appointments to the Supervisory and Management Boards, we aim to address the significant challenges of structural realignment, independence, and green transformation. Now, it is essential to work together with thyssenkrupp AG and employee representatives to set the course for a successful future. The remaining vacancies on the management board will be filled as soon as possible."
