Thermprocess 2019: Presentation and panel discussion on Paris Climate Change Agreement

The 2050 targets set in the Paris Climate Change Agreement are ambitious and represent one of the biggest challenges facing energy-intensive industries. Similar to the energy and transport sectors, industry is also undergoing significant changes, coupled with significant investment and know-how , Here, in particular, the energy-intensive area of thermal process technology is affected. It therefore depends entirely on which technologies are available to the plant operators. Of particular importance is the question of which energy sources are currently and in the future available for achieving the climate goals.
The Forschungsgemeinschaft Industrieofenbau eV (FOGI) takes up this hot topic in the form of a panel discussion on the first THERMPROCESS exhibition day, June 25 (3:30 to 5:00 pm, Hall 9, Stand D 74), bringing together representatives from industry, research and associations with representatives from universities & research institutes to a table. Here is discussed possible ways to achieve the climate goals within the thermal process technology. The focus should not only be on the appropriate technologies, but also on the necessary framework conditions.
The lecture by Frederike Krebs, VDMA European Office / Brussels, on "The Paris Climate Goals 2050 and Their Significance for Mechanical and Plant Engineering" will introduce the topic and the podium discussion.The motto of the subsequent panel discussion is: "Climate Goals 2050: Hot Iron - cool heads How does the thermal process technology meet the requirements of the Paris climate targets?
