by David Fleschen
Swiss Steel Group has announced a leadership transition in its Board of Directors. Effective October 30, 2024, Martin Lindqvist has taken over as Chairman, succeeding Jens Alder, who will remain actively involved as Vice Chairman.
Martin Lindqvist, age 62, joined the Board of Directors of Swiss Steel Group earlier this year following his election at the company’s General Meeting on May 23, 2024. Lindqvist brings a wealth of experience from his time at SSAB, where he led initiatives in steel production innovation, including efforts to achieve fossil-free manufacturing. His career also includes roles at notable companies such as NCC and Outokumpu Copper Strip, alongside current responsibilities on the Board of Directors of SCA, one of Europe’s largest private forest holdings.
Jens Alder, who held the position of Chairman since 2021 and led the Board of Schmolz + Bickenbach before its rebranding as Swiss Steel Group, has been recognized for his strategic guidance and expertise during a period marked by significant restructuring. The Board has expressed its gratitude for Alder’s contributions and anticipates his continued support in his new role.
In a statement, Alder welcomed Lindqvist, highlighting his extensive international experience and industry knowledge. Lindqvist, together with the Board, CEO Frank Koch, and the Executive Management Team, will continue to steer Swiss Steel Group through its ongoing transformation.
