Shipments and stocks of EU Distribution in first 7 months 2020

In the same period shipments of EU multi-product & proximity steel stockholding distribution were down by -13,2%. EUROMETAL’s market monitoring system is tracking EU steel distribution shipments and stocks for its two main business segments:
- Flat SSC Distribution
- • Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution
EU Flat SSC Distribution
In first 7 months of 2020, shipments of EU SSC did fall by -20,3% in a year-on-year comparison. In July of 2020 compared to July 2019, Strip Mill Products shipments did drop by -11,8%, year-on-year, compared with -16,5% for the month of June. When expressed in days of shipments, stocks at EU SSC reached 71 days in July 2020, compared to 72 days in July 2019. For July 2020, the index of stock volumes did drop and noted at index 97, to be compared with index 114 in July 2019 (average 2015 = index 100).
EU Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution
In the first 7 months of 2020, EU Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution registered lower shipments for almost all products of its portfolio. Only rebar shipments noted higher. As a matter of fact, during the first 7 months of 2020, total shipments dropped by -13,2 %, year-on-year. July 2020 compared to July 2019, “All Steel Products” shipments decreased, year-on-year by -13,8%.
Stock volumes index of EU Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution registered at 87 in June 2020, to be compared to a significantly higher index of 99 one year before (average 2015 =Index 100). When expressed in days of shipments, stock volumes levelled in July 2020 at 79 days of shipments, compared to 78 days in July 2019.
