METAV 2022 will once again be launched as a presence event

In March of next year, METAV 2022 will once again be launched as a presence event in Düsseldorf after a four-year break due to Corona. "We are very much looking forward to seeing our exhibitors and visitors again," says Martin Göbel, head of trade fairs at METAV organizer VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association). "A large proportion of the current 250 or so exhibitors from more than 20 countries have remained loyal to us since 2020, despite its postponement as METAV reloaded and subsequent rededication as METAV digital," Göbel added. Sascha Gersmann, Head of Marketing and Key Account Manager at Citizen Machinery Europe GmbH in Esslingen, confirms: "We have been a long-standing and loyal companion of METAV and see time and again that there is also a great deal of potential in central and northern Germany that has not yet been fully exploited." Göbel adds, "However, about one-fifth of the exhibitors are also newcomers." Who will be there, interested parties can see from the preliminary list of exhibitors, which was published these days at www.metav.de.
From 08 to 11 March 2022, the international trade fair for metalworking technologies will open its doors. "Exhibitors and visitors can have confidence and visit trade fairs," Göbel is certain. This was shown by the current events at various trade fair venues this fall. Rising vaccination rates, the 3G regulation and Messe Düsseldorf's good experience with its PROTaction hygiene concept gave a good feeling for safe trade fair participation. Even in view of the current rise in the number of infections, there is no evidence of any increased risk of infection from participation in trade fairs. On the contrary, thanks to the strict hygiene regulations, they can be considered safe.
The motto of METAV 2022 is "Real & digital - The perfect match!". With this, the VDW is emphasizing that its trade fairs will be hybrid in the future. "After the experience with the Corona crisis, we are convinced that the presence trade fair alone has no future, but must also position itself digitally and offer complementary formats," says Martin Göbel. Markus Horn, Managing Director of Paul Horn GmbH in Tübingen, takes a similar view: "We support the hybridization of trade fairs as long as the focus is on presence and digitization offers visitors added value. Presentations and selected specials can also reach target groups that don't come to the trade fair."
So-called METAV Highlight Weeks are planned for METAV 2022. They will start in February 2022 with a web sessions theme week. Exhibitors will present their processes and solutions in 30 minutes each. That's 20 minutes of digital presentation and ten minutes of discussion. In this way, they address their customers in the decisive phase of planning a visit to the trade fair and advertise their expertise for a visit to the trade fair stand. Markus Horn confirms: "From our point of view, the METAV Web Sessions have already been very well received in the past. We are firmly planning to participate and are already excited about what digital offerings there will be beyond that."
In the second part of the highlight weeks until the runtime on 08 March, the VDW will publish exhibitor portraits and trade fair highlights in the form of so-called Elevator Pitches every day until the runtime on all METAV social media channels - these are LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and the IndustryArena. "This will position METAV 2022 with maximum visibility on the market and extend its reach," knows Martin Göbel. All exhibitors are cordially invited to participate, he adds.
