Kuka: New mobile platform particularly suitable for tight production conditions
by David Fleschen
With the KMP 600P, KUKA now offers a mobile platform that is particularly suitable for tight production conditions. As one of the world's leading specialists for automation solutions, KUKA is thus expanding its portfolio in the field of autonomous mobile robots (AMR) with an attractive option for payloads of up to 600 kilograms.
Thanks to its excellent price-performance ratio, the most compact platform in KUKA's powerful P-series to date is of interest to companies across all industries that want to make their production or intralogistics more efficient. Thanks to differential drive technology, the platform can not only move forwards and backwards, but can also turn on the spot and take curves with a defined radius. This makes it the ideal solution for applications where space is a critical resource.
The KMP 600P can be used not only for efficient material supply from the warehouse to stations, assembly lines or pre-assembly lines, but also for process interlinking or reliable point-to-point transport.
"With the KMP 600P, we are expanding our range with a compact and cost-efficient platform," says Julian Stockschlaeder, Head of AMR Business Development at KUKA. "It adds another building block to our portfolio on KUKA's path to becoming a volume player and scaling our product business in the AMR market."
The KMP 600P is VDA 5050-compatible and can therefore be easily and quickly integrated into various agnostic fleet management systems. Inductive charging enables 24/7 operation and extends battery life. The platform offers maximum safety thanks to international certifications - and the easy maintenance concept ensures simple maintenance: thanks to the modular design, all components are easily accessible and can be replaced quickly and cost-effectively.
With the user-friendly KUKA.AMR Fleet software, commissioning the KMP 600P is also effortless and requires no programming knowledge. The drag-and-drop function and an extensive function library allow work processes to be optimised quickly, saving time and resources.
