Konecranes supplies cranes to mechanical engineer company Zimmermann
by David Fleschen
CNC milling machines shape materials - from wood to plastic to metals. In doing so, high precision is often required, for example when it comes to automotive or aircraft parts. For such demanding applications, F. Zimmermann GmbH from Neuhausen on the Fildern near Stuttgart supplies customized milling machines and, more recently, horizontal machining centers. Highest precision is required for their production: Konecranes therefore lends an all-round package of high performance double girder overhead cranes and comprehensive service so that the high-quality milling machines float safely through the production halls.
From an office chair to an airplane: If a whole is to be created from individual parts, then the matching parts made of wood, plastic or metal first have to be manufactured. CNC milling machines are the first choice to get materials of almost any kind in shape. It depends on a millionth of a meter, so that the desired performance and longevity are achieved. F. Zimmermann GmbH in Neuhausen on the Fildern near Stuttgart has been specializing in the construction of milling machines for more than 80 years. New and groundbreaking: horizontal machining centers that work extremely precisely. Zimmermann built a new production hall for them in 2017. Powerful cranes are needed to transport milling machines and these machining centers safely and sensitively. Konecranes has therefore designed a perfectly tailored package for Zimmermann - including special services. The new hall will receive three new double girder bridge cranes, while the older production hall will receive a new double girder bridge crane and two single girder overhead cranes. Another crane will be modernized.
