In January of 2022 compared to January 2021, shipments of EU SSC drop by -0,4%.
In same period shipments of EU multi-product & proximity steel stockholding distribution were down by -9,9%
EUROMETAL’s market monitoring system is tracking EU steel distribution shipments and stocks for its two main business segments:
- Flat SSC Distribution
- Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution
EU Flat SSC Distribution
In January of 2022 compared to January 2021, Strip Mill Products shipments increased by 4,8%, year-on-year, compared with a drop of -8,1% for the month of November.
When expressed in days of shipments, stocks at EU SSC reached 73 days in January 2022, compared to 69 days in January 2021.
For January 2021, the index of stock volumes did rise and noted at index 98, to be compared with index 85 in December 2020 (average 2018 = index 100).
EU Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution
In January of 2022 compared to January 2021, EU27 + UK Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution only Long Steel Products and Plates registered higher shipments. All other products had a negative run.
As a matter of fact, in January of 2022 total shipments decreased by -9,9 %, year-on-year.
Stock volumes index of EU27 + UK Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution registered at 91 in January 2022, to be compared to a lower index of 78 one year before (average 2018 =Index 100).
When expressed in days of shipments, stock volumes leveled in January 2022 at 80 days of shipments, compared to 69 days in January 2021.
