In first 10 months of 2021, shipments of EU SSC rise by 11,5%

EUROMETAL’s market monitoring system is tracking EU steel distribution shipments and stocks for its two main business segments:
- Flat SSC Distribution
- Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution
EU Flat SSC Distribution
In first 10 months of 2021, shipments of EU27 + UK SSC did rise by 11,5% in a year-on-year comparison.
In October of 2021 compared to October 2020, Strip Mill Products shipments did drop by -12,0%, year-on-year, compared with a drop of -5,5% for the month of September.
When expressed in days of shipments, stocks at EU SSC reached 63 days in October 2021, compared to 57 days in October 2020.
For October 2021, the index of stock volumes did drop and noted at index 87, to be compared with index 79 in October 2020 (average 2018 = index 100).
EU Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution
In the first 10 months of 2021, EU27 + UK Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution only Rebars registered lower shipments. All other products had a positive run.
As a matter of fact, during the first 10 months of 2021, total shipments increased by 6,6 %, year-on-year.
October of 2021 compared to October 2020, “Total Steel Products” shipments decreased, year-on-year by -11,8%. All products had a negative trend, except Plates, Tubular Products, Stainless Steel and Other Alloy Steels.
Stock volumes index of EU27 + UK Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution registered at 86 in October 2021, to be compared to a lower index of 81 one year before (average 2018 =Index 100).
When expressed in days of shipments, stock volumes leveled in October 2021 at 79 days of shipments, compared to 66 days in October2020.
