German steel producer Stahlwerke Thüringen presents current range of products

The Stahlwerk Thüringen GmbH in Unterwellenborn/Germany is presenting its steel sections and informs about its product range extension since BAU2017, special structural shapes and comprehensive services.
The product range covers HE, IPE, UPE, UPN and British profiles as well as profiles according American and Japanese standards, steel sleepers and special profiles according to SWT standards. The company produces non-alloy structural steels according to EN 10025-2:2004, weldable fine grained structural steels according to EN 10025-3/4:2004 and structural steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance according to EN 10025-5:2004. Furthermore our portfolio includes grades for offshore structures according to EN 10225:2009 as well as 16Mo3 high-temperature structural steel following EN 10273:2016.
In addition to the standard delivery program, SWT offers the following products and a set of specialized services worldwide such as
• Weight optimized light sections as well as profiles with tight tolerance and/or profile dimension modifications, customer defined special steel sections• Ultrasonic tested steel sections e. g. for noise protection walls according to the railway standard of Deutsche Bahn, steel sleepers for railway network construction. SWT is an accredited supplier for European railway organizations, such as the German railway organization Deutsche Bahn AG, within the framework of the manufacturer-related product qualification (Herstellerbezogene Produktqualifikation – HPQ), and SWT is a supplier for the Swiss Federal Railways.
• Grades approved and certified for shipbuilding as per specifications of international classification societies (Lloyd’s Register, DNV-GL, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping)
• Flexible product lengths – efficient and reliable delivery of sections worldwide
• Structural steel with specified toughness properties for offshore applications at low temperatures down to -50°C)
• Sections of 16Mo3 steel for use at elevated temperatures up to 500°C with defined material properties
Stahlwerk Thüringen is one of the first companies in Europe to have implemented the integrated management system with the current focuses on quality assurance (according to ISO 9001:2015), environmental protection (according to ISO 14001:2015), health and safety (according to BS OHSAS 18001:2007) and energy management (according to ISO 50001:2011).
The company sees itself committed to the principle of the sustainable development and have been successfully certified by the BSI Group according to the requirements of the British sustainability standard BES 6001. For many years SWT has been a member of the initiative Sustainability Agreement of Thuringia/Germany. In 2018 our products were eco-balanced, together with other European steel manufacturers within the framework of bauforumstahl, in a uniform environmental product declaration (EPD) according to ISO 14025.
