Eurometal: Shipments of EU SSC distribution dropped significantly.

According to the market monitoring system of Eurosteel, in September 2018, shipments of EU SSC distribution dropped significantly by -11,6 % when compared with September 2017, amounting to a decline of -3,5 % during 3. Quarter 2018 and of -2,4 % during the first 9 months of 2018, each time in a year on year comparison.
When expressed in days of shipments, stocks at EU SSC averaged higher in September 2018 at 72 days, when compared with 66 days in September 2017. For September 2018, the index of stock volumes did reach index 113, the same as in September 2017 (average 2015 = index 100).
In September 2018, EU Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution noted for most of its product portfolio shrinking shipments . Only rebars and galvanized & other coated flats noted rising sales.
As a matter of fact, during September 2018, total shipments decreased by -3,2 %, year-on-year.
Dispite this decrease, shipments of the 3. Quarter 2018 remained positive at a +0,9 % increase of shipments.
For the first 9 months of 2018, shipments noted slightly higher at +0,3 %, year-on-year.
Stock volumes index of EU Multi-Product & Proximity Steel Stockholding Distribution noted higher at 103 in September 2018, when compared to 94 days one year before.
When expressed in days of shipments, stock volumes in September 2018 leveled higher at 82 days of shipments, when compared with 75 days in September 2017.
