Starting October 1, 2024, David Heymans will join the management team of Mineralmahlwerke (MMW) Hamm and Wesel, currently led by Tim Grottendieck and Frank Husse. Heymans will initially focus on overseeing operations at the Wesel plant. MMW Wesel, which has been part of CREMER ERZKONTOR since 1991, specializes in the processing and recycling of minerals and carbon-based products.
"David is a recognized expert in raw materials and processing," said Nils Fleig, Managing Director of CREMER ERZKONTOR. "With his engineering background in raw materials and his experience in mining and plant management, he brings a valuable combination of technical, material, and business expertise. This skill set is ideal for helping us achieve our goals of expanding mineral processing and recycling operations."
Born in 1985 in Cologne, David Heymans studied resource engineering at RWTH Aachen University, where he earned his master's degree in 2012. Following his studies, Heymans worked as an international mining consultant for RWE, advising one of the world’s leading iron ore producers on establishing a strategic site in Brazil. After several years with Lhoist Germany Rheinkalk GmbH, he joined Quarzwerke GmbH in mid-2020, where he managed the Frechen sand and grinding plant, overseeing both the operational and strategic aspects of the quartz sand quarry and its processing facilities. Most recently, Heymans served as Managing Director of Phrikolat Drilling Specialties GmbH, a leading German company specializing in raw materials and chemicals.
Commenting on his new role, Heymans said, "Managing both processing facilities in Hamm and Wesel, with a combined capacity of 300,000 tons annually, is no small task. I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges and to working with my new colleagues. Together, we will bring fresh momentum and further develop the business."
