Cinzia Vezzosi re-elected vice president of European Recycling Industries’ Confederation

During the General Assembly of EuRIC – the European Recycling Industries’ Confederation – in Brussels, elections were conducted to renew the Federation’s Board.

Olivier François (FEDERREC) was re-elected as President of the Federation. Alongside him, Cinzia Vezzosi was confirmed as Vice President, together with Alicia Garcia Franco (FER), Sebastian Will (BVSE), and Peter Hodecek (WHO). The newly elected leadership will serve a three-year term.

From the perspective of Assofermet, Cinzia Vezzosi’s reappointment reflects a strong recognition of her sustained dedication and leadership within the recycling sector. Representing Assofermet, she is expected to continue playing a central role in supporting and shaping the future of recycling at the European level.

Her re-election also comes at a pivotal time for the industry. The recent publication of the Steel and Metal Action Plan has introduced major challenges for operators across Europe. In this context, Assofermet believes that reinforcing collaboration within EuRIC and maintaining open, constructive dialogue with European Union institutions will be essential.

Assofermet, a member of Confcommercio – Imprese per l’Italia, is the national trade association representing approximately 450 companies operating in four key sectors: steel (including trading, distribution, and processing of steel products); scrap (collection, recovery, recycling, and trade of ferrous scrap); metals (including non-ferrous metal trading and recycling); and hardware (retail and distribution of hardware and DIY goods).

The association serves as a key platform for companies, media, and stakeholders, offering insights and support on both regulatory and market-related issues.
