Change in Outokumpu Leadership Team: Rolf Schencking appointed as President

Outokumpu has appointed Rolf Schencking (M.Sc. Eng.) to start as President, business line Advanced Materials and member of the Outokumpu Leadership Team as of October 1, 2024. Thomas Anstots, the current position holder, has decided to retire at the end of 2024.

Mr. Schencking has extensive experience in the metal industry as well as thorough understanding of the steel market and advanced materials sector. His expertise will be a valuable asset to Outokumpu, and we warmly welcome him to the Leadership Team. I also want to express our warmest thanks to Thomas Anstots for his service and commitment and wish him all the best for his retirement,” says Heikki Malinen, President and CEO of Outokumpu.

Rolf Schencking joins Outokumpu from VDM, where he has held the position of Chief Technology Officer since 2018. Prior to that, he worked at various metal companies in the aluminum industry, for example. He will report to the President and CEO of Outokumpu and be based at Outokumpu’s office in Krefeld, Germany.
