ArcelorMittal showcases low-CO2 steel solutions at Bauma 2025

by David Fleschen

ArcelorMittal will present its range of sustainable steel solutions at Bauma 2025, taking place in Munich from April 7 to 13. The company will showcase a full selection of steel products tailored for the construction and construction machinery industries, emphasizing sustainability and reduced CO2 emissions.

The exhibition will feature high-strength, lightweight, and wear-resistant steels with a CO2 footprint reduced by up to 81%, as verified through certified environmental product declarations. The Sheet Piling and Wire departments will exhibit in Hall C5, Stand 338, while the Flat and Tubular Products divisions will be in Hall A6, Stand 518, alongside Industeel.

XCarb® Technology for Sustainable Steel Production

A key focus of ArcelorMittal’s presence at Bauma is the decarbonization of steel manufacturing. Through technological advancements, the company can produce steel with a significantly lower carbon footprint while maintaining its high quality.

Steel products under the XCarb® label can achieve up to an 81% reduction in CO2 emissions. These steels are manufactured in an electric arc furnace (EAF) using high scrap content and 100% renewable electricity. Many of these products support a circular economy by being reusable and fully recyclable at the end of their service life. The XCarb® initiative aligns with ArcelorMittal’s commitment to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

Sheet Piling and Wire Solutions at Hall C5, Stand 338

ArcelorMittal’s sheet pile unit will present sustainable steel foundation solutions designed to address climate change-related challenges, such as flood and coastal protection. A documentary, Sheet Piles Can Save Lives, will be featured at the stand, demonstrating the role of engineered sheet piling in protecting against natural hazards.

A comparative study on underground car parks in Germany will highlight the advantages of the EcoSheetPile™ Plus range over alternative materials, emphasizing the environmental benefits of XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel.

Additionally, ArcelorMittal will showcase its SmartSheetPile solution, which integrates sensors, digital twins, and AI to enhance safety, durability, and reliability. The wire division will display hoist and mining ropes designed for high safety standards with significantly lower CO2 emissions.

Sheets, Plates, and Tubes at Hall A6, Stand 518

At Stand 518 in Hall A6, ArcelorMittal’s teams will present their latest innovations in sheets, plates, and tubes. The display will include Creusabro®, a highly wear-resistant steel offering twice the lifespan of conventional water-quenched steel. The Amstrong® and Relia® grades, available in various dimensions and thicknesses, will also be featured to meet diverse customer needs.

Specialists in steel tubular solutions will introduce structured hollow sections and precision tubes designed for demanding construction and engineering applications.
