Aperam completes acquisition of ELG Haniel GmbH

Luxembourg-based Aperam S.A., one of the world's leading producers of stainless steel and superalloys, today announced the completion of its acquisition of Duisburg-based ELG Haniel GmbH. ELG is a global leader in the recycling of stainless steel and superalloys. ELG employs around 1,200 people at 51 locations in 20 countries and processes around 1.2 million tons of stainless steel scrap per year. The acquisition of ELG has received all necessary regulatory approvals and will further strengthen Aperam's competitiveness and environmental-social governance leadership in the industry. Aperam plans to continue operating the ELG Group as an independent company.
