Annual ISSF Conference in Chicago on 23 and 24 May
by David Fleschen
The Annual Conference will start with an Open Panel Session on Thursday 23 May. In that session Mr Jim Lennon from Macquarie Securities, will talk about Nickel and the probable impact from the rapidly emerging battery market. Mr Andrew Purvis, Director, Safety, Health and Environment of the World Steel Association, will talk about the risks involved in Process Safety Management, where, unlike Work Related Injuries or Fatalities, the risks are potentially catastrophic. The third speaker will be Mr Scott Jennings, CNN Contributor, former Special Assistant to President George W. Bush, and Partner at RunSwitch PR, who will present an insight into the Politics and Economy in the United States.
On Friday 24 May there will be an opportunity to visit the North American Stainless plant in Kentucky. For those of you who wish to visit the plant, we recommend you book the flights in your round-trip ticket to Chicago as indicated on the programme. The ISSF will make a reservation at the Belterra Casino in Florence (Indiana) for you; this hotel is about 15 minutes from the plant.
